I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I had a great time tailgating before the Pirates-Brewers game yesterday. Even though the Pirates didn’t pull out a win it was fun to spend time with some great people. We were lucky enough to have decent weather for the tailgate and I was thankful for a dome baseball park this weekend. During the last few innings there were full on thunderstorms and we stayed dry! The roof did leak in some spots and I can’t say the same for those unlucky fans. ;)
Today Mike and I enjoyed brunch at one of our favorite brunch spots, Buckley’s! I love that place. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is fabulous. I enjoyed some Guinness French Toast, one of my brunch staples and Mike had a Bloody Mary, one of his brunch staples.
After brunch we headed to the movies because I was dying to see the new Captain America movie and Mike wanted to see it too. I loved it! Captain America is not my favorite Avenger but I love all of the story lines around the Avengers team. I can’t wait for the next movie!
Now for the fish fry review. I was really excited to try the fish at Miller Time Pub because they use haddock like Brocach. Well, the fish did not live up to my expectations. The fish was actually overcooked and chewy. It came with potato pancakes, a common addition to fish fries in Milwaukee and these were a disappointment as well. They were more like smashed tater tots. Delicious for tater tots but not how potato pancakes should taste. And lastly, the tartar sauce was a roasted poblano tartar sauce that ended up not being as special as it sounded.

Writing food reviews and posting them is new to me, without a doubt. I know that my opinions will be different from others and I’m only writing food reviews as a hobby but I would not recommend the fish fry at Miller Time Pub.
The first place I reviewed was Panther Pub and if you recall the batter wasn’t super crunchy but the taste was great and the fish wasn’t overcooked. Miller Time was the complete opposite and another downside was having a higher bill than other fish fries due to the location which is inside a hotel. Not all fish fries can be as great as Brocach but I am still enjoying trying many throughout Milwaukee!
